Defenders UK #3 is Out Now!

The long awaited issue #3 of Defenders UK is now available to read, for FREE, on the Avengers UK Facebook page.

I've just finished reading it myself, and loved it. There are so many references, nods of appreciation you could say, to the British side of sci-fi, and Brit' heroes, lovingly crafted by Izzy World. This is his baby, and like a growing infant, it is being nurtured, and loved like only a parent would love it's own child. You have to check out the inclusion of characters from old British children's TV programmes.

This has been created not for money, but for love, love of a genre we all love. Check it out, it's worth a read. If you've not read the first two issue, check them out on the Avengers UK site, before reading this issue...

The following alternate covers were drawn by myself, and the talented Alan Green.

Meggan by Paul Abrams

Came across this slightly blurry piece of art by Paul Abrams of Meggan on the Comic Art Fans site. It's worth checking out his own site, there's some beautiful, non-UK art on there.

Defenders UK #3 Out This Saturday

This Saturday will see the long awaited release of issue three of the FREE online comic, Defenders UK. This is a fan piece lovingly crafted by Izzy World, for the Avengers UK universe. There's even a variant cover by me.

You can check out previous issues, for FREE, plus Avengers UK, and many others by following this link...

Captain Britain by Phil Jimenez

A simple sketch of Captain Britain in his original costume by Phil Jimenez, posted on the Comic Art Fans site in 2011. I would presume this is a commission, no detail available, apart from it's size, 'Sketch - 7x10'. A nice little piece of art.

Union Jack by Mike Perkins

Here's another Union Jack piece by Mike Perkins, a commission from MegaCon 2007, posted on the Comic Art Fans site in 2009.

The owner of this piece (lucky person) had this to say... 'From MegaCon 2007. Mike had already been working on Captain America and was getting lots of attention for that, but I loved his Union Jack stuff, too (being an old Invaders fan helped). I handed my sketchbook over to him on a Saturday and picked it up the next day. I was kinda apprehensive, but felt MUCH better when I saw the sketch! I was an even bigger fan after this, and have since met him several times at my local comic shop which he frequents. A classy guy and an incredible talent!'

Cool Cover Art: New Excalibur #11

This issue was released November 2006. New Excalibur a team formed in the wake of the events of  House of M. Arthurian cover by Michael Ryan, a representation of the cover featured on the first issue, but this is way cooler.

The story contained within is... It's time-travel time! New Excalibur is called upon to save King Arthur and his legendary Camelot from total destruction. But what exactly is it that has devastated this once mighty realm? Believe us, it's not what you think! Guest starring Black Knight! Part 2 (of 3)!

Ciara McAvoy's Captain Britain TV Art Joined Together

I've pasted the Captain Britain head on to the body of the costume painted by the extremely talented Ciara McAvoy. It gives you a more complete picture of what the full figure may look like.

It reminds me of the Alan Davis cover he drew for the Captain Britain Omnibus.

Yes, I'm a little excited, at the possibility!

More Captain Britain TV appearance Hints

Ciara McAvoy has once again tweeted a new piece of art she's painting for the previously mentioned possible appearance by Captain Britain in the Marvel TV/Cinematic universe.

She added... 'First, you must discover whose face lies behind this mask @MrCoolMintProd @MOVIESEL5 #CaptainBritain (1st draft oil)'

Followed by... 'Hints: He received his acting degree from The Royal Academy of Music and Drama, He has worked extensively in television & Theatre in the UK'

Is this true?, please let it be a reality!
